Job Description
The Capital Market Authority (CMA) of Oman is recruiting a Legal Officer for its Enforcement Division at its Al Khuwair headquarters in Muscat. This role involves investigating market misconduct, insider trading, and regulatory violations under the Capital Market Law (Royal Decree 80/98) and its executive regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate suspected violations of the Capital Market Law, including insider trading and market manipulation
- Draft enforcement notices, settlement agreements, and referrals to the Public Prosecution
- Advise on CMA licensing decisions for brokers, fund managers, and investment advisers
- Review corporate governance compliance for Muscat Stock Exchange-listed companies
- Represent the CMA in administrative hearings and coordinate with the Ministry of Justice
Requirements
- LLB from a recognised university; specialisation in Securities or Financial Regulation preferred
- Admitted as Lawyer/Legal Adviser by the Oman Bar Association
- 3-6 years PQE in securities regulation, enforcement, or financial law
- Knowledge of the Capital Market Law, CMA executive regulations, and corporate governance code
- Bilingual Arabic and English essential
