Legal Officer — Nabil Bank (Biratnagar)

Nabil Bank Limited is recruiting a Legal Officer for its Eastern Region operations based in Biratnagar — Nepal's second-largest city and the commercial gateway to Province 1. Biratnagar is a major industrial and trade hub bordering India, with significant banking activity driven by manufacturing, cross-border trade, and remittance flows.

The Legal Officer will manage credit documentation for the bank's eastern branch network, handle loan recovery and collateral enforcement proceedings before the District Court of Morang, and ensure regional compliance with Nepal Rastra Bank directives. The Biratnagar posting provides exposure to cross-border trade finance, industrial lending, and the unique commercial dynamics of Nepal's Terai region.

• Review and approve credit documentation for the eastern branch network
• Handle loan recovery and collateral enforcement before the District Court of Morang
• Ensure compliance with NRB directives and banking regulations across eastern branches
• Manage trade finance documentation for cross-border transactions with India
• Coordinate with the regional management team on legal risk assessment
• Liaise with external counsel for complex litigation matters in Province 1

• Advocate licensed by the Nepal Bar Association (NBA) with 3–5 years' post-admission experience
• Knowledge of the Banking and Financial Institution Act 2073 and loan documentation procedures
• Experience with debt recovery and collateral enforcement proceedings
• Understanding of trade finance and cross-border banking documentation
• Familiarity with the Secured Transactions Act 2063 and mortgage procedures
• LL.B. from a recognised institution
• Willingness to be based in Biratnagar; Nepali fluency required
