Legal Specialist – Competition Law

The Secretariat of the Swiss Competition Commission (WEKO/COMCO) in Bern is seeking a Legal Specialist to join its investigation teams. WEKO enforces the Federal Act on Cartels and other Restraints of Competition (KG/LCart) and reviews merger notifications across all sectors of the Swiss economy.

You will investigate potential cartels, analyze mergers for competition concerns, and contribute to precedent-setting decisions that shape Swiss competition policy.

What You Will Do

• Investigate suspected cartels and abuses of dominant market positions
• Analyze merger notifications under Art. 9-10 KG for competition concerns
• Conduct economic analyses and market studies
• Participate in dawn raids and evidence-gathering proceedings
• Draft investigation reports and decision proposals for the Commission

• Conduct antitrust investigations from preliminary assessment to decision
• Review and assess merger notifications
• Prepare reports and decision proposals for the Competition Commission
• Represent the Secretariat in proceedings before the Federal Administrative Court
• Monitor EU and international competition law developments

• Swiss MLaw required; Anwaltspatent is an advantage
• 3-5 years of experience in competition law, regulatory law, or economic analysis
• Strong knowledge of the KG/LCart, Swiss merger control, and EU competition law
• Fluent in German or French; good English required
• Strong analytical and writing skills
• Interest in economic analysis and market dynamics
