Job Description
Sachbearbeiter/in – Recht
The Secretariat of the Swiss Competition Commission (WEKO) in Bern is seeking a Sachbearbeiter/in (Legal Support Officer) to provide administrative and analytical support to its investigation teams.
This role is ideal for a recent law graduate or experienced legal support professional interested in competition law and government service. You will assist with merger notifications, case file management, and research on the KG/LCart and EU competition law developments.
What You Will Do
- Process and review incoming merger notifications for completeness
- Maintain case files and internal databases
- Conduct preliminary legal and market research
- Assist with the preparation of investigation reports
- Support the organization of Commission meetings and hearings
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to competition law investigation teams
- Process incoming filings and maintain case databases
- Conduct background research on markets and legal questions
- Assist with document management and correspondence
- Support the Secretariat in organizational matters
Requirements
- Swiss MLaw or Bachelor of Law; or commercial qualification with legal experience
- 0-2 years of professional experience
- Interest in competition law and economic regulation
- Fluent in German or French; English is an advantage
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
- IT proficiency (MS Office, databases)
