Job Description
AMJ is hiring a Banking & Islamic Finance Associate for its Muscat office in Shatti Al Qurum. This role involves advising banks, Islamic financial institutions, and corporate borrowers on conventional and Sharia-compliant financing structures under Central Bank of Oman regulations and the Islamic Banking Regulatory Framework (Royal Decree 69/2012).
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and review facility agreements, sukuk documentation, and Islamic finance structures (Murabaha, Ijara, Musharaka)
- Advise on compliance with Central Bank of Oman circulars and prudential regulations
- Support project finance transactions in the energy and infrastructure sectors
- Conduct legal research on Omani banking regulations and Sharia advisory board requirements
- Liaise with the Central Bank of Oman and CMA on regulatory approvals
Requirements
- LLB from a recognised university; LLM in Banking, Finance, or Islamic Finance preferred
- Admitted as Lawyer/Legal Adviser by the Oman Bar Association or equivalent
- 3-6 years PQE in banking, finance, or Islamic finance
- Understanding of Sharia-compliant finance structures and CBO regulatory framework
- Excellent English drafting; Arabic is an advantage
Responsibilities
Draft facility and sukuk documentation. Advise on CBO regulations. Support project finance. Research Omani banking regulations.
Requirements
LLB required; LLM in Banking/Islamic Finance preferred. 3-6 years PQE. Knowledge of CBO regulations and Islamic finance structures.
