Job Description
Dentons & Co (Al Shuaili) is looking for an Oil & Gas Senior Associate to join its energy practice in Al Khuwair, Muscat. This role involves advising on upstream and downstream petroleum contracts, LNG transactions, and renewable energy projects under Omani hydrocarbons legislation and Royal Decrees.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate exploration and production sharing agreements (EPSAs) and concession contracts with the Ministry of Energy and Minerals
- Advise on LNG sale and purchase agreements, gas processing arrangements, and pipeline right-of-way agreements
- Support OQ and other energy clients on joint venture governance and unitisation agreements
- Advise on Oman's hydrogen and renewable energy strategy under Oman Vision 2040
- Handle regulatory approvals with the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Authority
Requirements
- LLB from a recognised university; LLM in Energy, Natural Resources, or International Law preferred
- Admitted as Lawyer/Legal Adviser in Oman, England & Wales, or another recognised jurisdiction
- 6-10 years PQE in oil and gas or energy transactions
- Experience with EPSAs, PSCs, or concession agreements
- English essential; Arabic highly desirable
Responsibilities
Draft EPSAs and concession contracts. Advise on LNG transactions. Support JV governance. Advise on renewable energy strategy.
Requirements
LLB required; LLM preferred. 6-10 years PQE in energy/oil & gas. EPSA and PSC experience. English essential, Arabic desirable.
