Senior Legal Counsel – Trade Finance
United Overseas Bank (UOB) is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join the Group Legal team at UOB Plaza, 80 Raffles Place. You will provide legal support for UOB's trade finance operations across ASEAN, covering letters of credit, trade loans, supply chain financing, and sanctions compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on trade finance products including letters of credit, documentary collections, bank guarantees, and supply chain financing
- Draft and review trade finance documentation, master agreements, and facility terms
- Ensure compliance with UCP 600, ISBP, MAS sanctions requirements, and anti-money laundering regulations
- Advise on cross-border trade finance structures across UOB's ASEAN network
- Liaise with external counsel across jurisdictions on trade finance disputes and documentary credit litigation
Requirements
- Admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore
- 6–10 years of experience in trade finance, banking law, or related practice
- Strong knowledge of ICC trade finance rules (UCP 600, URDG 758) and MAS regulatory requirements
- Experience with ASEAN cross-border banking is highly valued
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
