Job Description
Technology & IP Licensing Counsel — Technion, Haifa
The Technion — Israel Institute of Technology is seeking a Technology & IP Licensing Counsel to join its technology transfer office (T3) in Haifa. The Technion is a world leader in engineering and science research, with four Nobel laureates and thousands of patents powering Israel's Innovation Hub.
Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate and draft technology licensing agreements with global corporations for Technion-developed IP
- Manage patent prosecution and portfolio strategy across AI, quantum computing, biotechnology, and materials science
- Structure spin-off company formations from Technion research labs, including equity splits and IP assignment
- Draft and negotiate research collaboration agreements with industry partners and international universities
- Advise on Israel Innovation Authority grant compliance and IP ownership issues under the Innovation Authority Law
- Handle IP due diligence for potential licensees and investors in Technion spin-offs
- Coordinate with the Israeli Patent Office (Reshut HaPatentim) on patent filings and oppositions

Requirements
- Israel Bar Association membership preferred; patent attorney qualification is an advantage
- 4-8 years of IP, technology transfer, or licensing experience
- Understanding of patent law (Israeli Patent Law 5727-1967), copyright, and trade secrets
- Experience with university technology transfer, R&D agreements, or biotech/tech licensing
- LLB from a recognized university; science or engineering degree is a significant advantage
- Fluent Hebrew and English
- Familiarity with Israel Innovation Authority regulations and academic IP ownership frameworks
