Training Contract — Clifford Chance, Canary Wharf, London
Clifford Chance is inviting applications for its September 2027 Training Contract intake. As one of the Magic Circle's leading international law firms, Clifford Chance offers one of the most prestigious and comprehensive training contracts in the UK legal profession.
Over two years, trainees rotate through four six-month seats across the firm's practice areas, gaining exposure to banking and finance, capital markets, corporate M&A, litigation and dispute resolution, and real estate. Trainees work on market-leading transactions and have the opportunity to complete an international or client secondment.

Eligibility: Open to final-year LLB/GDL students, law graduates, and career changers completing the SQE. Applications from diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged.
Responsibilities
- Complete four six-month seats across the firm's core practice areas
- Work on live client matters under the supervision of qualified solicitors and partners
- Draft legal documents, conduct research, and attend client meetings
- Participate in the firm's structured training programme, including workshops and seminars
- Undertake an international or client secondment where available
- Build relationships across the firm and develop your professional network
- Work towards qualification as a Solicitor of England and Wales
Requirements
- On track for or hold a minimum 2:1 degree (law or non-law discipline)
- Completion of or enrolment in the LPC, SQE, or equivalent qualification pathway
- Strong academic record with evidence of intellectual curiosity and analytical ability
- Genuine interest in international commercial law and the firm's core practice areas
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Commercial awareness and understanding of the legal market
- Right to work in the United Kingdom
