Legal Intern — International Arbitration

Hoet Peláez Castillo & Duque offers a legal internship in its International Arbitration practice in Caracas. Interns will gain practical experience in investment treaty arbitration, commercial arbitration, and cross-border dispute resolution at one of Venezuela's most respected arbitration practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Research international arbitration case law including ICSID, ICC, and UNCITRAL proceedings involving Venezuela
• Assist with drafting arbitration pleadings, chronologies, and case summaries
• Review and organise documentary evidence for arbitration proceedings
• Prepare legal research memoranda on investment treaty and commercial arbitration issues
• Attend moot court preparation sessions and training on arbitration advocacy

• Support the arbitration team with research and document review
• Attend arbitration hearings and procedural conferences as an observer
• Participate in the firm's moot arbitration programme
• Prepare case summaries and research digests for the team

• Currently enrolled in final two years of law school (Derecho) at a Venezuelan university
• Interest in international arbitration, public international law, or dispute resolution
• Bilingual in Spanish and English; French a plus
• Excellent legal writing and analytical skills
• Familiarity with arbitration rules (ICSID, ICC, UNCITRAL) an advantage
