Internship Description

HelloFresh is seeking a highly motivated and intellectually curious Legal Intern to join our North America Legal team for a dynamic, rotational internship program.

This internship offers hands-on exposure to a fast-paced, in-house legal environment supporting a global, multi-brand food technology business. The role is designed to provide meaningful experience across Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), Legal Operations, Regulatory Compliance, Legal Technology/AI Innovation, Project Management, and Legal Research, while offering visibility into core practice areas including Corporate, Commercial, Marketing, and Employment Law.

You will partner closely with attorneys, legal operations professionals, and cross-functional stakeholders to support real business priorities and contribute to high-impact projects. This role is an opportunity to experience how Legal drives operational efficiency, enables the business, and scales alongside a growing organization.

Expectations

The Legal Internship experience is a 10-week internship opportunity that starts on June 8, 2026, and concludes on August 14, 2026. This is a hybrid position with 3 days (Tuesday – Thursday) in the New York, NY office location. The other 2 days each week will be working remotely from home or office. Required, in-person onboarding will occur in the New York City Headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Legal Administration: Assist with the daily operations of the NA Legal team, including managing contract execution and organizing the CLM repository.
  • Regulatory Research: Conduct research on federal, state, and local regulations impacting food labeling, marketing claims, sustainability efforts, and consumer protection.
  • Contract Lifecycle Operations: Advance contract lifecycle processes through system enhancements, data optimization, and scalable workflow improvements that strengthen contract governance and operational efficiency.
  • Legal Tech & Process Improvement: Identify workflow inefficiencies and contribute to the development of automated solutions, templates, and intake processes to modernize Legal service delivery.
  • Workflow Automation: Identify bottlenecks in how legal requests are submitted and help develop automated forms or templates to streamline the process.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Help facilitate Legal’s partnership with teams such as Procurement, Operations, Marketing, and Product by preparing materials, tracking action items, and facilitating communication.
  • Special Projects: Contribute to high-impact strategic initiatives, including AI-enabled legal solutions, the buildout of a centralized legal knowledge management ecosystem, and workstreams that drive operational efficiency, optimization, and scale.

Who You Are

  • Current Undergraduate or Graduate: Ideally studying Pre-Law/Legal Studies, Law and Justice, Criminal Justice, Political Science or a related field with a strong preference for candidates that are interested in pursuing a paralegal career, the legal operations profession and/or law school.
  • Tech-Savvy & Analytical: You are comfortable working with Microsoft Office, G-Suite, are eager to learn new legal-tech tools, data driven and interested in the intersection of law and AI innovation. Having experience with CLM tools is ideal.
  • Highly Organized + Detail-Oriented: Your time management is admirable. You sweat the small details and can catch errors in a 20-page contract that others might miss.
  • Cross-Functional Communicator: You know how to read the room and translate complex instructions into clear, actionable steps.
  • Self-Starter: You’re comfortable and thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment and are ready to "figure it out" when new challenges arise.

What’s In It For You?

  • Corporate Legal Exposure. Gain hands-on experience in a multi-entity corporate structure, seeing how a high-performing legal team drives and scales a global business.

Mentorship. Receive direct guidance from Legal leadership, paralegals, attorneys and a network of internal business partners.

  • Gain exposure within a multinational organization with a complex corporate structure, supporting a diverse portfolio of legal functions across a global business.
  • Flexible Hybrid schedule in office 3x per week and free lunch multiple days a week in office.
  • Free headshot at our photo studio, a distribution center tour, volunteer opportunity, and capstone presentation with ELT/SLT panel.
  • Free Factor meals and add-ons to keep you fueled. Unlimited snacks and beverages available daily.
This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the responsibilities. However, the Company reserves the right to adjust, modify, or reassign work tasks and responsibilities as needed to meet changing business needs, operational requirements, or other factors.
