Internship Description
HelloFresh is seeking a highly motivated and intellectually curious Legal Intern to join our North America Legal team for a dynamic, rotational internship program.
This internship offers hands-on exposure to a fast-paced, in-house legal environment supporting a global, multi-brand food technology business. The role is designed to provide meaningful experience across Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), Legal Operations, Regulatory Compliance, Legal Technology/AI Innovation, Project Management, and Legal Research, while offering visibility into core practice areas including Corporate, Commercial, Marketing, and Employment Law.
You will partner closely with attorneys, legal operations professionals, and cross-functional stakeholders to support real business priorities and contribute to high-impact projects. This role is an opportunity to experience how Legal drives operational efficiency, enables the business, and scales alongside a growing organization.
Expectations
The Legal Internship experience is a 10-week internship opportunity that starts on June 8, 2026, and concludes on August 14, 2026. This is a hybrid position with 3 days (Tuesday – Thursday) in the New York, NY office location. The other 2 days each week will be working remotely from home or office. Required, in-person onboarding will occur in the New York City Headquarters.
Key Responsibilities
- Legal Administration: Assist with the daily operations of the NA Legal team, including managing contract execution and organizing the CLM repository.
- Regulatory Research: Conduct research on federal, state, and local regulations impacting food labeling, marketing claims, sustainability efforts, and consumer protection.
- Contract Lifecycle Operations: Advance contract lifecycle processes through system enhancements, data optimization, and scalable workflow improvements that strengthen contract governance and operational efficiency.
- Legal Tech & Process Improvement: Identify workflow inefficiencies and contribute to the development of automated solutions, templates, and intake processes to modernize Legal service delivery.
- Workflow Automation: Identify bottlenecks in how legal requests are submitted and help develop automated forms or templates to streamline the process.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Help facilitate Legal’s partnership with teams such as Procurement, Operations, Marketing, and Product by preparing materials, tracking action items, and facilitating communication.
- Special Projects: Contribute to high-impact strategic initiatives, including AI-enabled legal solutions, the buildout of a centralized legal knowledge management ecosystem, and workstreams that drive operational efficiency, optimization, and scale.
Who You Are
- Current Undergraduate or Graduate: Ideally studying Pre-Law/Legal Studies, Law and Justice, Criminal Justice, Political Science or a related field with a strong preference for candidates that are interested in pursuing a paralegal career, the legal operations profession and/or law school.
- Tech-Savvy & Analytical: You are comfortable working with Microsoft Office, G-Suite, are eager to learn new legal-tech tools, data driven and interested in the intersection of law and AI innovation. Having experience with CLM tools is ideal.
- Highly Organized + Detail-Oriented: Your time management is admirable. You sweat the small details and can catch errors in a 20-page contract that others might miss.
- Cross-Functional Communicator: You know how to read the room and translate complex instructions into clear, actionable steps.
- Self-Starter: You’re comfortable and thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment and are ready to "figure it out" when new challenges arise.
