Job Summary
Lafayette Square is looking to add a legal intern to its team. This person would be focused on the firm’s credit and equity investment complex, including fund-formation, compliance activities and deal work. The intern would report to the Assistant General Counsel. This is an opportunity to gain hands on transactional experience at a well-capitalized asset management company.
Responsibilities
- Assistance with and legal support of registered investment adviser, investment company and small business investment companies
- Participate in virtual meetings and assist legal counsel or senior staff with administrative and documentation tasks
- Negotiate and monitor non-disclosure agreements, service provider agreements and other ancillary agreements under the supervision of an attorney.
- Support of corporate governance management, including assistance with and preparation for board meetings and communications, maintaining board books and corporate documentation
Requirements
- Passion for impact investing required.
- Strong academic credentials - Bachelor's Degree required and currently enrolled in a Juris Doctor program.
- Mature, responsible, and entrepreneurial qualities to complement the existing team.
- Clear, concise writing skills with an ability to distill complex topics.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Compensation
$25-$30 per hour
