Legal Intern — Regulatory & Strategic Affairs

The Legal Intern will support the Regulatory and Strategic Affairs Department through research, analysis and participation in legal, regulatory and governance activities. This role provides hands-on practical exposure to the telecommunications industry's legal and compliance frameworks. WIOCC is Africa's carriers' carrier, providing international and African telcos and ISPs with high-speed, resilient and diverse capacity across Africa. The intern will gain experience in telecommunications regulation, corporate governance, and commercial law.

• Conduct legal research on corporate law, governance and telecommunications regulatory compliance in Kenya and other jurisdictions • Assist in preparing legal briefings and regulatory compliance reports • Support contract review and drafting under supervision • Analyze telecommunications licensing requirements and compliance obligations • Draft or update compliance and policy documents • Contribute to stakeholder engagement and industry advocacy initiatives • Compile final internship report with learnings and recommendations

• Recent law graduate from a recognised institution or student at Kenya School of Law pending bar admission • Demonstrated interest in corporate law, telecommunications regulation, or governance • Strong legal research, analytical and writing skills • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications • Excellent oral and written communication skills • High ethical standards and professional integrity
