Internship Description

BHP offers a paid vacation clerkship in its Legal function at 171 Collins Street in Melbourne. Over 8 weeks, you will gain first-hand experience of in-house practice at the world's largest mining company, supporting legal teams across minerals, commercial, and corporate governance.

Programme Details

  • Duration: 8 weeks (November-January)
  • Compensation: Paid — competitive weekly rate
  • Eligibility: Penultimate or final-year LLB/JD students

What You Will Do

  • Research mining law, Native Title, and environmental regulation questions
  • Assist with contract review and commercial negotiations
  • Support corporate governance projects for BHP's board and committees
  • Visit BHP operational sites (subject to availability)
