Position Overview
Internship Description
The Superintendencia de Bancos offers a pre-professional internship in its Legal and Regulatory Directorate in Quito. Interns will support the regulatory team on legal research, norm drafting, and analysis of financial sector legislation.
This is an exceptional opportunity for law students interested in financial regulation, public law, and government service, providing exposure to the inner workings of Ecuador's banking supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Conducting legal research on banking regulations, international standards, and comparative law
- Assisting with drafting regulatory proposals and normative instruments
- Supporting the team with analysis of legislation under consideration by the Asamblea Nacional
- Helping maintain the regulatory database and legal archives
- Preparing summaries of supervisory decisions and enforcement actions
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in the final 2 years of Derecho at a recognised Ecuadorian university
- Interest in financial regulation, banking law, or public administration
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Knowledge of the Código Orgánico Monetario y Financiero (basic level)
- Compliance with LOSEP requirements for public sector internships
