Practicante — Judicatura en Propiedad Intelectual (Bogotá)

Lloreda Camacho & Co offers a 6-month Judicatura placement in the Intellectual Property department for final-year Derecho students and recent graduates completing their mandatory judicial internship for bar admission. This is one of the most sought-after IP internships in Colombia, providing hands-on exposure to trademark prosecution, patent work, and IP litigation at a top-ranked firm.

Judicantes participate in real SIC prosecution matters, assist with IP portfolio management for multinational clients, and attend IP-related hearings. The programme includes structured mentorship from senior IP practitioners, training on the Andean Community IP system, and participation in Consultorio Jurídico activities. Duration: 6 months with possibility of extension. Competitive stipend provided.

• Conducting trademark availability searches in the SIC database and international registers
• Assisting with trademark application filings and prosecution before the SIC
• Researching IP jurisprudence from the SIC, Consejo de Estado, and Tribunal Andino de Justicia
• Preparing opposition and cancellation action documentation
• Supporting patent prosecution research and prior art analysis
• Attending Consultorio Jurídico sessions and internal IP training workshops

• Final-year Derecho student or recent graduate completing Judicatura
• Demonstrated interest in intellectual property law (coursework, moot courts, or publications)
• Knowledge of Decisión 486 de la Comunidad Andina and Colombian IP legislation
• Strong research and legal writing skills in Spanish
• English proficiency at B2+ level for international trademark search work
• Detail-oriented and organised for portfolio management tasks
