Position Overview
Internship Description
Baker McKenzie Bogotá invites applications for a 6-month Prácticas Profesionales placement in the Tax practice group. This programme is designed for final-year Derecho students or recent graduates completing their Judicatura who have a keen interest in tax law, international tax planning, and transfer pricing.
Practicantes work directly with the tax team on live client matters, gaining exposure to the Estatuto Tributario, DIAN proceedings, and cross-border tax structuring. The programme includes mentorship from Partners and access to Baker McKenzie's global training platform and knowledge resources.
Responsibilities
- Researching Colombian tax legislation, DIAN doctrines, and Consejo de Estado tax jurisprudence
- Assisting with tax due diligence for M&A transactions
- Supporting the preparation of transfer pricing documentation
- Drafting internal memoranda on tax reform developments and regulatory changes
- Attending client meetings and internal training sessions
Requirements
- Final-year Derecho student or recent graduate completing Judicatura
- Strong academic background from a top Colombian university
- Interest in tax law, international tax, or transfer pricing
- Basic knowledge of the Estatuto Tributario
- English proficiency at B2+ level for international tax research
