Job Description

Applicants must have a J.D. degree, must be an active member of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction), and have at least 1 year post J.D. legal or other relevant experience. Ideal qualifications include at least 5 or more years of post J.D. litigation experience. The attorney selected to fill the vacant position must also be willing to become an active member of the Utah State Bar and the bar of the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah within twelve months of appointment. Required Qualifications: Applicants must demonstrate a quick analytical ability and the facility to accurately and precisely articulate the critical issues in a case. Applicants must demonstrate superior oral advocacy and writing skills as well as strong research skills, interpersonal skills, and good judgment. Applicants must possess excellent communication and courtroom skills and exhibit the ability to work in a supportive and professional manner with other attorneys, support staff and agencies. Applicants must have a demonstrative capacity to function, with minimal guidance, in a highly demanding environment. You must meet all qualification requirements upon the closing date of this announcement. Applicants must possess a J.D. degree (or equivalent) and be an active member of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction) by their entry on duty date. Law school graduates and current law students taking a July 2026 bar examination may be considered, subject to the foregoing requirements. United States citizenship is required. You must meet all qualification requirements upon the closing date of this announcement.
