Associate — Corporate & Commercial (Lagos)

Aluko & Oyebode is seeking a qualified Associate to join the Corporate & Commercial practice group in the Lagos office. The role involves advising on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, private equity transactions and general corporate advisory matters for multinational and local clients.

The firm, part of the ALN alliance, offers exposure to cross-border transactions across Africa. Associates work directly with Partners and Senior Associates on complex mandates.

• Drafting and reviewing transaction documents including share purchase agreements, joint venture agreements and shareholder agreements
• Conducting due diligence on target companies
• Advising clients on regulatory compliance and corporate governance
• Liaising with regulators including CAC, SEC and FCCPC
• Supporting Partners on complex cross-border transactions

• LL.B from a recognised Nigerian university
• B.L. from the Nigerian Law School
• Admission to the Nigerian Bar
• 2-4 years post-call experience in corporate and commercial law
• Strong drafting and analytical skills
• Experience with M&A or capital markets transactions preferred
