Associate – Data Protection & Privacy at Dentons Poland (Wrocław)
Dentons' Wrocław office, situated in the Centrum Południe complex in the Krzyki district, is seeking an Associate specialising in Data Protection & Privacy. Wrocław has become a major hub for technology companies and shared service centres, generating significant demand for specialist data protection legal advice.
About the Role
You will advise clients on compliance with RODO (Rozporządzenie o Ochronie Danych Osobowych — the Polish implementation of GDPR) and the Ustawa o ochronie danych osobowych (2018). The role covers the full spectrum of data protection work: GDPR compliance audits, data processing agreements, Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs/Ocena skutków dla ochrony danych), data breach response, and proceedings before the Urząd Ochrony Danych Osobowych (UODO).
You will also advise on the intersection of data protection with employment law (employee monitoring, BYOD policies), e-commerce and digital services (e-Privacy, cookie compliance under Prawo telekomunikacyjne), and emerging areas such as the EU AI Act and Data Act. The Wrocław tech ecosystem provides a dynamic client base for this practice.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on RODO/GDPR compliance including data processing agreements and privacy policies
- Conduct data protection compliance audits and gap analyses
- Prepare DPIAs for high-risk processing activities
- Handle data breach notifications and coordinate response with UODO
- Represent clients in UODO proceedings and complaints
- Advise on international data transfers (SCCs, adequacy decisions, Binding Corporate Rules)
- Monitor emerging EU digital regulation (AI Act, Data Act, Digital Services Act)
Requirements
- Qualified adwokat or radca prawny with 3-5 years of experience in data protection/privacy law
- Expert knowledge of RODO/GDPR and the Ustawa o ochronie danych osobowych
- Experience conducting GDPR compliance audits and preparing DPIAs
- Familiarity with UODO enforcement actions, complaint procedures, and administrative fines
- Understanding of e-Privacy rules and Prawo telekomunikacyjne
- Fluent Polish and English; CIPP/E certification is an advantage
