Job Description
Walker Kontos, recognized as a leading firm in energy and infrastructure, seeks an Associate to join its growing practice. The firm advises on renewable energy projects (wind, solar, geothermal), oil & gas exploration, mining licenses, and major infrastructure PPPs across East Africa.
Responsibilities
Draft and negotiate power purchase agreements (PPAs), concession agreements, and EPC contracts. Advise on regulatory approvals and licensing for energy projects. Support project finance transactions and security documentation. Conduct due diligence on mining and exploration licenses.
Requirements
Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. 3-5 years PQE with exposure to energy, natural resources, or project finance law. Understanding of Energy Act 2019, Mining Act 2016, and PPP Act 2013. Experience with EPRA, NEMA, and county government regulatory processes.
Compensation
KSh200,000 - KSh400,000/month
