Associate — Project Finance & Infrastructure | Clifford Chance Casablanca
Clifford Chance's Casablanca office, the Magic Circle firm's flagship presence in Africa, is seeking an Associate to join its market-leading Project Finance and Infrastructure practice. Based in Nearshore Park within the Casablanca Finance City (CFC) ecosystem, you will work on landmark infrastructure, energy, and PPP projects across Morocco and Francophone Africa.
Practice Highlights
Clifford Chance Casablanca has advised on many of Morocco's most transformative infrastructure projects, including the Noor-Ouarzazate solar complex (one of the world's largest concentrated solar power plants), Tanger Med port expansions, motorway concessions, and major public-private partnerships governed by Loi 86-12 relative aux contrats de partenariat public-privé. The team also advises on energy projects across West and Central Africa from the Casablanca hub.

Responsibilities
- Advise lenders, sponsors, and government entities on greenfield and brownfield infrastructure projects across Morocco and Africa
- Draft and negotiate project finance documentation: facility agreements, security packages, direct agreements, concession contracts
- Conduct legal due diligence on project assets, regulatory approvals, and environmental compliance
- Advise on Moroccan PPP structuring under Loi 86-12 and public procurement regulations (Décret n°2-12-349)
- Support renewable energy mandates including solar, wind, and hydrogen projects under Morocco's Stratégie Énergétique Nationale
- Coordinate with Clifford Chance offices globally on multi-jurisdictional project financings
Requirements
- Master's degree in Law (Business Law, Infrastructure Law, or Finance Law)
- Admission to the Barreau de Casablanca or qualification in another relevant jurisdiction
- 3-6 years' PQE in project finance, infrastructure, or banking law
- Knowledge of Moroccan PPP framework (Loi 86-12), mining law (Code Minier), and renewable energy regulations
- Experience with development finance institutions (AfDB, IFC, EBRD) is an advantage
- Fluent French and English required; Arabic desirable
