Job Description

Specialized Experience Requirement: To qualify at the CU-15 grade level: You must have five full years of post law school legal experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the work at the CU-15 grade level. At least two years (24 months) of the legal experience must have been equivalent to the CU/GS-14 grade level in federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following work: Serving as an attorney responsible for developing agency harassment prevention policies and/or procedures; Providing legal advice to senior leaders/executives and federal employees on harassment prevention policies and regulations; and Experience training employees on topics related to agency harassment prevention. Ideal Candidate Statement: In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, top candidates will present a resume demonstrating recent, substantive experience in several of the following areas and will be able to provide clear, detailed examples if interviewed: Deep expertise in federal anti-harassment law and policy, including interpreting and applying Title VII, the ADA, the ADEA, and related regulations, as well as advising leadership on appropriate and legally compliant agency responses. Demonstrated experience managing or supporting an anti-harassment, EEO, ethics, or similar compliance program, including assessing reports of alleged misconduct, recommending corrective actions, and collaborating with leadership to implement timely remedies. Exceptional legal research, analysis, and writing ability, including developing comprehensive policies, legal memoranda, guidance documents, and agency-wide communication materials related to harassment prevention and ethics issues. Strong advisory experience with senior officials, including providing authoritative legal interpretation, identifying risks, and shaping policy decisions and organizational practices. Skill in delivering training and outreach, particularly in designing and conducting agency-wide anti-harassment or ethics training, and promoting a culture where employees feel safe raising concerns. Demonstrated ability to collaborate across organizational lines, coordinating with executives, program offices, HR, EEO, and other stakeholders to build and sustain effective prevention, reporting, and response systems. In addition to meeting specialized experience requirements, applicants much also meet basic requirements. - You must have a professional law degree (LL.B. or J.D) of an accredited law school. - You must currently be a member in good standing of the bar of a state, territory of the United States, District of Columbia, or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
