Liedekerke's Antwerp presence is expanding to serve the city's thriving port, logistics, and diamond trade financing needs. You will advise banks, shipping companies, and commodity traders on structured lending, trade finance, and project financing.

Antwerp's port is the second-largest in Europe, generating enormous demand for maritime finance, commodity trade finance, and infrastructure project finance legal advice.

What You Will Do

• Advise on syndicated lending, acquisition finance, and asset-based lending transactions
• Draft and negotiate loan agreements, security packages, and intercreditor arrangements under Belgian law
• Advise on trade finance instruments including letters of credit, guarantees, and commodity financing
• Support project finance transactions for port and logistics infrastructure
• Advise on Belgian mortgage law and financial security arrangements (Financial Collateral Law)

• Advise on banking and finance transactions from term sheet through closing
• Draft and negotiate loan and security documentation
• Conduct legal due diligence on borrowers and security assets
• Advise on regulatory aspects of lending including Belgian credit legislation
• Collaborate with the Brussels banking team on cross-office mandates

• Admission to the Antwerp Bar or Belgian Bar required
• Master in Law from a Belgian university
• 3-6 years of banking and finance law experience
• Knowledge of Belgian security law, Financial Collateral Law, and LMA-standard documentation
• Fluent in Dutch and English; French is an advantage
• Experience with trade finance or maritime finance is desirable
