Job Description

Banking Regulation Officer — State Bank of Vietnam, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi

The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) is seeking a Banking Regulation Officer for its Banking Supervision Agency in Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi. You will contribute to the development and enforcement of prudential regulations governing Vietnam's commercial banking sector.

The SBV is Vietnam's central bank and the principal regulator of the financial sector. This role offers direct involvement in shaping banking policy for one of Asia's fastest-growing economies.

Responsibilities

Draft and review circulars, decisions, and guidance documents on banking prudential standards
Conduct off-site monitoring of commercial banks' compliance with capital adequacy and liquidity ratios
Participate in on-site inspection teams for commercial banks and financial institutions
Analyse bank licence applications and assess applicants' fitness and propriety
Support the implementation of Basel III standards in Vietnam's banking sector
Coordinate with international regulators and organisations (BIS, IMF, World Bank)

Requirements

4-7 years' experience in banking regulation, financial supervision, or banking law
Strong knowledge of the Law on Credit Institutions 2024 and Law on the State Bank of Vietnam 2010
Understanding of Basel III capital adequacy standards and their implementation in Vietnam
Experience with on-site and off-site bank inspections

Fluent Vietnamese; good English for liaising with international regulators
