Job Description
The National Youth Service (NYS) is recruiting Cadet Officers for Legal Officer positions. Successful candidates undergo nine months of paramilitary training at NYS Training College before deployment to legal departments. This is a permanent and pensionable position suited for fresh law graduates seeking government service. Benefits include SHA medical cover.
Responsibilities
Undergo nine months of paramilitary training at NYS Training College. Provide legal advisory services to NYS departments upon deployment. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements. Handle litigation and represent NYS in court proceedings. Advise on regulatory compliance and governance matters. Support disciplinary proceedings and employment law matters.
Requirements
Kenyan citizen aged 18-28 years. Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a recognized institution. Postgraduate Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law. Valid practicing certificate from the Law Society of Kenya. KCSE grade C+ minimum. No criminal record. Medical fitness certification. Must meet requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
