Naciri & Associés, in association with A&O Shearman, is seeking a mid-level Associate to develop its growing Intellectual Property and Technology practice in Casablanca. Morocco's digital economy transformation and the Casablanca Finance City's emergence as an African tech hub are driving demand for IP and technology lawyers.

Practice Highlights

The team advises on trademark registration and enforcement with the Office Marocain de la Propriété Industrielle et Commerciale (OMPIC), patent protection, technology licensing, data protection compliance under Loi n°09-08, e-commerce regulation, and fintech licensing. Clients include international technology companies, Moroccan startups in the CFC ecosystem, and traditional industries implementing digital transformation.

• Advise on trademark, patent, and design registration and enforcement with OMPIC
• Draft and negotiate technology licensing agreements, SaaS contracts, and software development agreements
• Advise on data protection compliance under Loi 09-08 and coordinate with the CNDP
• Handle IP disputes including trademark opposition, counterfeiting actions, and domain name disputes
• Support fintech and e-commerce clients on regulatory compliance
• Advise on AI, blockchain, and emerging technology regulatory issues in the Moroccan context

• Master's degree in IP Law, IT Law, or Business Law with technology specialisation
• Admission to the Barreau de Casablanca
• 3-5 years' PQE in IP, technology law, or data protection
• Knowledge of Loi 17-97 (propriété industrielle), Loi 09-08 (data protection), and Loi 31-08 (consumer protection)
• Understanding of international IP frameworks (TRIPS, Madrid Protocol, Paris Convention)
• Fluent French and English; Arabic an advantage
