Collaborateur — Real Estate & Construction | Naciri & Associés — A&O Shearman

Naciri & Associés, in association with A&O Shearman, is seeking an Associate to join its Real Estate and Construction practice in the Twin Center, Casablanca. Morocco's booming real estate sector — from mega-projects like Casablanca Marina and Bouregreg Valley to hotel developments across Marrakech — generates sustained demand for sophisticated real estate lawyers.

About the Role

You will advise developers, investors, and financial institutions on real estate acquisitions, construction contracts, real estate financing, and leasing transactions governed by the Dahir des Obligations et des Contrats and the Code de l'Enregistrement. The role involves working with the Conservation Foncière on title registration and the Agence Urbaine on construction permits.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on real estate acquisitions, disposals, and joint venture developments
  • Draft and negotiate construction contracts (CCAG, CPS), development agreements, and lease agreements (baux commerciaux)
  • Conduct title due diligence with the Conservation Foncière and environmental assessments
  • Advise on VEFA (vente en état futur d'achèvement) transactions for off-plan property sales
  • Support real estate financing transactions including hypothèque and nantissement documentation
  • Handle real estate litigation and construction disputes before Moroccan courts

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Real Estate Law, Business Law, or Construction Law
  • Admission to the Barreau de Casablanca
  • 3-5 years' PQE in real estate transactions, construction law, or property finance
  • Knowledge of Dahir on the Conservation Foncière, Code de l'urbanisme, and VEFA regulations
  • Experience with real estate finance and hypothèque documentation
  • Fluent French required; English and Arabic advantageous
