Competition Expert — Turkish Competition Authority, Ankara

The Turkish Competition Authority (Rekabet Kurumu) is recruiting Competition Experts (Rekabet Uzmani) for its Ankara headquarters. This is a prestigious government regulatory career involving investigation of anti-competitive conduct, merger review, and enforcement of Competition Law No. 4054.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate cartel agreements, concerted practices, and anti-competitive arrangements under Article 4 of Competition Law No. 4054
  • Analyze merger and acquisition notifications for competition concerns and prepare recommendation reports for the Competition Board
  • Conduct dawn raids and on-site inspections at company premises
  • Prepare investigation reports, statements of objections, and draft Board decisions

Requirements

  • LLB, economics, or business degree from a four-year Turkish university (minimum 70/100 GPA)
  • Successful completion of the Competition Expert Assistant examination (Rekabet Uzman Yardimcisi sinavi)
  • Strong analytical and legal research skills
  • Knowledge of Turkish competition law, EU competition law, and economic analysis
  • Fluent Turkish; strong English skills (KPDS/YDS score of 70+ or equivalent)
  • Interest in antitrust economics, industrial organization, or regulatory policy
  • No prior competition authority experience required for entry-level Expert Assistant positions
