Job Description

Atherstone & Cook, a Chambers-ranked firm, is hiring a Constitutional and Human Rights Lawyer. With Zimbabwe's evolving constitutional landscape and ongoing amendment discussions, this role involves challenging and defending constitutional matters in the Constitutional Court.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle constitutional litigation and judicial review applications
  • Advise civil society organizations, media houses, and individuals on fundamental rights
  • Research constitutional amendments and their impact on human rights
  • Draft constitutional court applications and heads of argument
  • Engage with regional human rights bodies (ACHPR, SADC Tribunal)

Requirements

  • LLB degree, practising certificate with LSZ
  • 3-5 years experience in constitutional, human rights, or public interest law
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Passion for human rights and rule of law
