Job Description

Contract Law Associate — Grab Malaysia

Grab Malaysia is seeking a Contract Law Associate to support its rapidly growing business from its Bangsar South office in Petaling Jaya. The role involves drafting and negotiating commercial contracts across Grab's ecosystem of ride-hailing, food delivery, digital payments, and financial services platforms in Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a high volume of commercial agreements including merchant agreements, technology licensing, and partnership contracts
  • Advise on contractual risk allocation under the Contracts Act 1950 and Malaysian commercial law
  • Support procurement and vendor management with appropriate contractual protections and service level agreements
  • Advise on consumer protection obligations under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 and e-commerce regulations
  • Manage the contract lifecycle from drafting through execution, amendment, and renewal using contract management technology
  • Develop and maintain template agreements and contract playbooks for Malaysia-specific commercial arrangements

Requirements

  • Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya with 2-4 years PQE in commercial or corporate law
  • Strong knowledge of the Contracts Act 1950 and Malaysian commercial law
  • Experience drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements
  • Familiarity with technology contracts, SaaS agreements, or digital platform terms of service
  • LL.B. from a recognised university; CLP holder with completed chambering
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to work at pace in a technology environment
  • Experience with contract management tools (e.g., Ironclad, DocuSign CLM) is an advantage
