Employment Law Associate — Kolcuoglu Demirkan Kocakli, Istanbul

Kolcuoglu Demirkan Kocakli (KDK) is seeking an Employment Law Associate to join its busy employment and labor law practice in Levent, Istanbul. The role involves advising multinational and Turkish employers on the full range of Turkish employment law matters under Labor Law No. 4857.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise employers on hiring, termination, severance pay (kidem tazminati), and notice pay (ihbar tazminati) under Turkish Labor Law No. 4857
• Handle individual and collective labor disputes before Turkish labor courts and regional labor courts of appeal
• Draft employment contracts, non-compete agreements, confidentiality agreements, and workplace policies compliant with Turkish law
• Advise on workforce restructurings, mass layoffs, and transfer of undertakings
• Handle work permit and residence permit matters for expatriate employees under International Labor Law No. 6735
• Advise on occupational health and safety compliance under OHS Law No. 6331
• Support collective bargaining negotiations and trade union relations

• Active avukat license and Istanbul Bar Association membership
• 3-6 years of employment law experience at a law firm or in-house
• Strong knowledge of Turkish Labor Law No. 4857, Trade Unions Law No. 6356, and OHS Law No. 6331
• Experience with labor court litigation and mediation (arabuluculuk) proceedings
• LLB from a recognized Turkish law faculty
• Fluent Turkish and English
• Familiarity with mandatory mediation requirements for employment disputes
