Employment Law Associate - Saudization and Labor Compliance
Baker McKenzie Habib Al Mulla is hiring an Employment Law Associate to join our growing Riyadh office. This role focuses on Saudi labor law, Saudization (Nitaqat) compliance, and workforce restructuring for multinational and local clients navigating the Kingdom's evolving employment landscape.
Role Overview
Saudi Arabia's labor market is undergoing rapid transformation under Vision 2030, with significant reforms to Saudization quotas, the Kafala sponsorship system, and the Personal Status Law. You will advise employers on compliance with the Saudi Labor Law, the Nitaqat system, and GOSI (General Organization for Social Insurance) requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on Saudi Labor Law compliance, employment contracts, and termination procedures
- Provide strategic guidance on Saudization (Nitaqat) quotas, workforce nationalization plans, and Kafala reform implications
- Draft employment policies, handbooks, and internal regulations compliant with MHRSD (Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development) standards
- Handle labor disputes before the Labor Courts and represent clients in settlement negotiations
- Advise on GOSI contributions, end-of-service benefits, and work injury claims
- Support clients with secondment arrangements and cross-border employment structures

Requirements
- LLB from a recognized Saudi or international university; LLM in employment law is an advantage
- 3-5 years of employment law experience, preferably in Saudi Arabia or the GCC
- Strong knowledge of Saudi Labor Law, Nitaqat system, and GOSI regulations
- Experience advising multinational companies on workforce compliance
- Fluent in Arabic and English
- Saudi nationals preferred (Saudization requirements apply)
