Job Description

Penkov, Markov & Partners, a prominent Bulgarian law firm with a strong labor law practice, is hiring an Employment Law Specialist for its Plovdiv office. The role covers the full spectrum of Bulgarian employment law, from individual labor disputes to collective bargaining, workforce restructurings, and compliance with EU social directives. The firm serves a diverse portfolio of local and international employers across southern Bulgaria.

Responsibilities

Advising employers on hiring, termination, disciplinary procedures, and redundancy processes; Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, internal company policies, and collective bargaining agreements; Representing clients before the General Labour Inspectorate and Commission for Protection against Discrimination; Advising on employee transfers under TUPE regulations; Providing guidance on occupational health and safety compliance; Supporting cross-border workforce restructuring projects; Conducting employment law training sessions for HR departments.

Requirements

Master's degree in Law; Admission to a Bulgarian Bar Association with 4-6 years of employment law experience; Deep knowledge of the Bulgarian Labour Code, Social Insurance Code, and anti-discrimination legislation; Experience advising on collective dismissals, transfers of undertaking (TUPE), and labor inspections; Familiarity with EU employment directives and their transposition into Bulgarian law; Fluent English; Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.
