Job Description

Boyanov & Co is recruiting an EU & Competition Law Associate to join its growing antitrust and regulatory practice. The role involves advising Bulgarian and multinational clients on merger control filings, state aid matters, and EU single market regulations. This position offers excellent exposure to high-profile competition cases before the Bulgarian Commission on Protection of Competition (KZK) and the European Commission.

Responsibilities

Preparing merger control notifications before KZK and the European Commission; Advising on horizontal and vertical agreements, dominance, and abuse of market position; Conducting competition law compliance audits for corporate clients; Representing clients in antitrust investigations and dawn raids; Analyzing state aid measures and advising on EU funding compliance; Monitoring legislative developments in Bulgarian and EU competition law; Drafting submissions, appeals, and position papers for regulatory proceedings.

Requirements

Master's degree in Law with specialization in EU or competition law; 3-5 years of experience in antitrust, merger control, or EU regulatory law; Knowledge of the Protection of Competition Act and EU competition regulations (Regulation 139/2004, Articles 101-102 TFEU); Experience with merger notifications and antitrust investigations; Fluent English required; French or German is a plus; Strong research and analytical capabilities.
