Job Description
M-KOPA, Africa's leading connected asset financing platform serving 3 million+ customers, seeks In-House Counsel to support its Kenya operations. The role covers consumer lending regulations, data protection, mobile money partnerships, and regulatory engagement with CBK on digital credit provider licensing.
Responsibilities
Draft and review consumer lending agreements, terms of service, and privacy policies. Advise on CBK digital credit provider licensing and compliance. Manage disputes including ODPC complaints and consumer tribunal matters. Support product launches ensuring regulatory compliance. Negotiate partnerships with mobile network operators.
Requirements
Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. 3-5 years PQE in fintech, banking, or consumer protection law. Understanding of CBK Digital Credit Providers Regulations 2022, Kenya Data Protection Act 2019, and Consumer Protection Act 2012.
