Job Description

Lumify Energy is seeking an In-House Counsel specializing in Property Litigation to join its legal team on a part-time, remote basis. The role involves managing property-related disputes, advising on land tenure issues, handling environmental compliance matters, and supporting the company's real estate portfolio across its energy project sites in Kenya.

Responsibilities

Manage property-related litigation and disputes affecting energy project sites. Advise on land acquisition, wayleave agreements, and easement matters. Handle environmental compliance and regulatory matters. Review and negotiate lease agreements and property contracts. Coordinate with external counsel on complex litigation matters. Provide strategic legal advice on the company's real estate portfolio.

Requirements

LLB degree from a recognized university. Admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. Minimum 5 years experience in property litigation. Strong knowledge of land and environment law, Energy Act, and property dispute resolution. Experience with energy sector projects is an advantage.
