Job Description
Infrastructure & Energy Counsel — Allens Vietnam, Hanoi
Allens (in alliance with Linklaters) is seeking a senior-level Counsel for its Hanoi office to lead on infrastructure and energy matters. Vietnam's energy transition and infrastructure boom require experienced practitioners who can navigate the complex regulatory landscape involving multiple ministries and provincial authorities.
This role offers partnership-track progression within one of Asia-Pacific's most respected law firms, with direct access to Linklaters' global network.
Responsibilities
- Lead project finance and infrastructure mandates from origination to completion
- Negotiate government concession agreements, power purchase agreements, and EPC contracts
- Advise on environmental impact assessments and compliance with the Environmental Protection Law 2020
- Manage relationships with key government stakeholders including the Ministry of Planning and Investment
- Contribute to business development and the firm's market profile in Vietnam
- Supervise associates and coordinate with Linklaters offices on cross-border elements
Requirements
- 8-12 years' PQE in energy, infrastructure, or project finance
- Substantial experience with PPP Law 2020, Electricity Law, and Environmental Protection Law 2020
- Track record advising on power projects, toll roads, ports, or water treatment plants in Vietnam
- Experience with multilateral development banks (ADB, World Bank, IFC)
- Admitted to practice in Vietnam or a common law jurisdiction
- Fluent Vietnamese and English; strong client management skills
