Why we're hiring:
We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Junior Legal Counsel to join our legal team in Istanbul. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a diverse portfolio of creative, production, and media agencies [WPP Production, WPP Creative (VML, Ogilvy), Burson and WPP Media]. You will support the legal team in day-to-day commercial operations, contract drafting, and compliance tracking.
What you'll be doing:
- Commercial Contracts: Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a high volume of day-to-day commercial contracts, including vendor agreements, talent/influencer contracts, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and standard client service agreements.
- Contract Management: Prepare and process contract-related documentation for internal review and execution. Administer the full contract lifecycle, including tracking key components (e.g., renewals, expirations), ensuring timely follow-ups, and managing document versions.
- Litigation & Compliance Support: Assisting the legal team with the tracking and coordination of ongoing litigation (both employment and commercial files), and supporting data privacy (KVKK) compliance processes.
- Template Management: Helping to maintain, update, and develop user-friendly legal templates for the agencies.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Working closely with central teams(account management, investment, finance, and HR) to provide timely legal responses to daily operational queries.
Who you'll be working with:
Reporting into the Senior Legal Counsel in Turkey, working in the wider WPP HQ Legal team.
What you'll need:
- Qualified lawyer registered with a Turkish Bar Association, with 1 to 3 years’ post-qualification experience (preferably with corporate/commercial experience in a reputable law firm or an in-house team).
- Contractual Fundamentals: Strong foundational knowledge of Turkish Contract Law and professional exposure in drafting commercial agreements.
- Industry Interest: A genuine interest in intellectual property, advertising law, technology, and the media/marketing landscape.
- Litigation Awareness: Basic exposure to or understanding of Turkish litigation processes (commercial and employment).
- Agility & Collaboration: Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Language: Native Turkish and fluent English are essential.
