Job Description
Al Markaz Law Firm is seeking a Lawyer specialising in Labor & Employment to join its litigation team in Al-Mirqab, Kuwait City, near the Palace of Justice. Kuwait's private sector employs over 1.7 million expatriate workers, creating constant demand for employment law expertise across visa sponsorship, termination disputes, and end-of-service benefits calculations.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent employers and employees before the Kuwait Labor Court and Court of Appeals
- Advise on compliance with Kuwait Labor Law (No. 6 of 2010) and subsequent amendments
- Draft employment contracts, non-compete agreements, and workplace policies compliant with Kuwaiti law
- Handle end-of-service benefits calculations and disputes under the Labor Law
- Advise on Kuwaitization (national workforce) requirements and their impact on employment decisions
Requirements
- LLB from a recognised university
- Licensed by the Kuwait Bar Association
- 3-5 years PQE in labor and employment law
- Experience appearing before Kuwait Labor Court
- Bilingual Arabic/English; understanding of kafala (sponsorship) system essential
