Job Description
Petrol d.d. is seeking a Legal Advisor specializing in Environmental Compliance for our Celje regional office. You will advise on environmental regulatory matters arising from Petrol's fuel storage, distribution, and retail operations, as well as the company's growing renewable energy and sustainability portfolio.
The role involves working with the Zakon o varstvu okolja (ZVO-2, Environmental Protection Act), Zakon o vodah (ZV-1, Water Act), and EU environmental legislation including the EU ETS, REACH, and the EU Taxonomy Regulation. Celje, situated in the Savinjska valley, is an environmental focus area due to historical industrial contamination, making environmental legal expertise particularly valuable.
Responsibilities
Advise on environmental permit applications, including IPPC permits and environmental impact assessments. Handle contaminated land matters, including remediation obligations and liability allocation. Support EU ETS compliance, emissions monitoring, and carbon credit management. Advise on Petrol's sustainability reporting under CSRD and EU Taxonomy alignment. Monitor Slovenian and EU environmental regulatory developments affecting the energy sector.
Requirements
Magister prava from a recognized university. 3-5 years of experience in environmental law or regulatory compliance. Knowledge of ZVO-2 (Environmental Protection Act), ZV-1 (Water Act), and EU environmental regulations. Experience with EIA, IPPC permits, or contaminated land matters. Fluent in Slovenian and English.
