Job Description
The National Land Commission, established under Article 67 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010, seeks a Legal Advisor to support its mandate of managing public land, recommending land policy, and investigating historical land injustices. This role is central to Kenya's ongoing land reform agenda.
Responsibilities
Advise the Commission on legal matters relating to public land management. Handle compulsory acquisition proceedings and compensation assessments. Support the Historical Land Injustices Division. Draft legal opinions on community land registration and management. Represent NLC before the Environment and Land Court.
Requirements
Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. 5-7 years PQE in land law, conveyancing, or environmental law. Knowledge of Land Act 2012, Land Registration Act 2012, Community Land Act 2016, and National Land Commission Act. Experience with land disputes, compulsory acquisition, and resettlement.

KSh250,000 - KSh450,000/month
