Job Description
DLA Piper Africa's Nairobi office (operating through IKM Advocates) seeks an Associate for its TMT practice. The role involves advising tech companies, telecoms operators, and media houses on data protection, content regulation, spectrum licensing, and technology M&A in East Africa's rapidly growing digital economy.
Responsibilities
Advise on data protection compliance including DPIA preparation and ODPC registration. Draft technology agreements including SaaS, cloud computing, and outsourcing contracts. Support tech M&A transactions and venture capital deals. Advise on content regulation, broadcasting licensing, and digital taxation.
Requirements
Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. 3-5 years PQE in TMT, data protection, or technology law. Knowledge of Kenya Data Protection Act 2019, KICA, Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act, and relevant CA regulations.
Compensation
KSh200,000 - KSh400,000/month
