Job Description

The Affordable Housing Board (AHB) seeks a Manager, Legal Services to provide legal advice, conveyancing services, contract preparation and review, Board management services, and litigation management. This is a senior position reporting to the Corporation Secretary. The AHB was established to oversee Kenya's affordable housing program and this role is critical in ensuring the legal framework supports the housing delivery mandate.

Responsibilities

Coordinate interpretation and implementation of legal policies. Provide preliminary legal advice to departments. Represent the Board in court proceedings. Draft legal correspondence on routine matters. Guide Board members on constitutional compliance. Organize Board activities and manage secretarial functions. Prepare and circulate Board meeting minutes. Maintain governance records.

Requirements

Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized institution. Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. Master's degree in Law or related field preferred. 15 years cumulative work experience with 3 years at Assistant Director level. Valid practicing certificate. Membership in Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya. Must comply with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
