Job Description

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements. Education Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR Three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.M., if related. Graduate education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Experience You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Experience which demonstrates the knowledge of sentencing statutes and sentence computation methods and application of sentencing law and administration. Experience involving the development of factual, substantive evidence used in the determination of claims, and the identification and interpretation of pertinent case law, regulation and policy in preparing litigation reports. Experience researching legal issues utilizing the standard legal referencing system of case precedent, statutory law and administrative regulations. Experience demonstrating extensive knowledge of Bureau organization, regulations, and policy concerning the Administrative Remedy Program and rapidly changing policy issuances regarding the administration of federal penal institutions. OR A combination of education and experience. This experience must have equipped you with the qualifications to perform the major duties of this position as described above. If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as the number of hours worked per week) spent in activities. **Your eligibility for consideration will be based on your responses to the questions in the application.**
