Position Overview
Job Description
Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for a Patient Advocate to diplomatically facilitate solutions to concerns and unmet needs for the benefit of patients and families. The position serves as a patient advocate for those suffering from diseases or conditions offering suggestions and tactfully, effectively and successfully investigates, and resolves non-medical challenges which may arise during the course of treatment and/or hospital stays. In addition, the position also investigates potential patients' rights violations, conducts hospital unit rounds to identify potential problems and intervenes as appropriate; conducts monthly grievance committee meetings responsible for reviewing all grievances and developing plans for improvement, as well as develops, interprets, and revises Patient Advocacy policies and procedures, and provides education to staff, managers and administrative staff. Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles), Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC)is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit, 456-bed, university affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
