Job Description
Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) is seeking a Legal Counsel for its Wealth Management division at RBC Centre, 200 Bay Street, Toronto. You will support RBC Wealth Management, RBC Dominion Securities, and RBC Global Asset Management on regulatory, compliance, and transactional matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on regulatory compliance for investment dealers and portfolio managers under CIRO (formerly IIROC) rules
- Support the launch of new investment products including mutual funds, ETFs, and managed accounts under National Instrument 81-102
- Advise on trust and estate planning matters under Ontario's Succession Law Reform Act and Trustee Act
- Draft and review investment management agreements, advisory agreements, and client documentation
- Support regulatory examinations and enforcement inquiries from CIRO and provincial securities commissions
Requirements
- Called to the Bar in Ontario (LSO member)
- 4-7 years post-call experience in securities, wealth management, or investment fund law
- JD/LLB from a recognized law school
- Understanding of CIRO rules, NI 81-102, and provincial securities legislation
- Experience in the financial services industry preferred
