Our Legal team plays a key role in enabling this growth by supporting the business on some of its most critical and fast-evolving topics. We are now looking for a Senior Employment Counsel to join our global employment legal team and take ownership of employment-related matters across the Nordics and Baltics. This role sits at the intersection of traditional employment law and new workforce models, offering a unique opportunity to work on high-impact, cutting-edge issues.
The position is based in Helsinki, Finland.
Required language: English. Finnish is optional; additional European languages are a plus.
What you’ll be doingIn this role, you will act as the primary legal partner for all employment law matters across multiple jurisdictions, supporting both employee and courier-related topics in a dynamic and evolving regulatory environment.
Day-to-day in this role you’ll:
- Provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice on employment law matters across the Nordics
- Support a broad range of topics, including employees, independent contractors, and alternative workforce models
- Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders (HR, Operations, Policy, Legal) to support business initiatives and manage risk
- Lead and coordinate external counsel across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring high-quality and consistent advice
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments and proactively advise on potential impacts to the business
- Contribute to global employment legal strategy and share best practices across regions
- Fully qualified lawyer with significant experience in employment law (typically 8+ years), gained in a law firm and/or in-house
- Proven ability to work autonomously and lead complex, multi-jurisdictional matters
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge senior business partners
- Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to assume best intent and partner openly in navigating intersecting and/or ambiguous areas of legal responsibility with other members of the Legal team
- Experience advising on or exposure to non-traditional workforce models (e.g. independent contractors, platform work). We also value experience in working with matters involving trade unions.
- Excellent judgment, with a pragmatic and solution-oriented approach to legal risk
- Fluent in English
