Job Description

BURS is seeking a Senior Legal Advisor to lead its legal division, providing strategic legal guidance on tax policy, dispute management and legislative reform to support government revenue objectives.

Responsibilities

Lead all legal matters for BURS including litigation strategy
Advise the Commissioner General on tax policy and legislative drafting
Manage a team of 5 legal officers
Represent BURS in ATAF and SADC revenue committee forums

Requirements

LLB plus LLM or equivalent; post-graduate tax qualification is an asset
Minimum 7 years experience in revenue administration or tax law
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
