Job Description
Stikeman Elliott LLP is seeking an Associate for its Competition & Foreign Investment practice at 1155 Rene-Levesque Boulevard West in downtown Montreal. You will advise on Competition Bureau merger reviews, abuse of dominance cases, and foreign investment reviews under the Investment Canada Act.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on merger notifications and pre-merger filings under the Competition Act
- Conduct competitive effects analysis and prepare submissions to the Competition Bureau
- Advise on foreign investment reviews under the Investment Canada Act
- Represent clients before the Competition Tribunal and Federal Court of Appeal
- Provide compliance advice on cartel enforcement, bid-rigging, and deceptive marketing practices
Requirements
- Called to the Barreau du Quebec or the Law Society of Ontario
- 3-6 years post-call experience in competition/antitrust law
- Bilingual (English/French) strongly preferred for Montreal office
- JD/LLB or BCL from a recognized university
- Experience with Competition Bureau filings and regulatory advocacy
